Earth Hour 2016 in Georgia

On Saturday, 19 March 2016, 20:00 – 21:30, Round Garden in Tbilisi will see a traditional celebration of Earth Hour with

live music, candles and Shadow Theatre show.

The event is open to everyone who wishes to show their support to this massive environmental action when millions of people around the globe turn off the lights for greener and safer future.

Earth Hour in Tbilisi is organised by the United Nations Information Office (UNO) in Georgia, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources Protection of Georgia, Caucasus Environmental NGO Network (CENN) and WWF Caucasus in cooperation with Tbilisi City Hall.

Shombi Sharp, UNDP Resident Representative a.i.; Gigla Agulashvili, Minister of Environment and Natural Resources Protection of Georgia; Davit Narmania, Tbilisi Mayor; Nana Janashia, Executive Director of CENN; and Giorgi Sanadiradze, Head of WWF Caucasus, will join the celebration. 

Georgia is joining Earth Hour for the eighth time this year. On 19 March, 20:30, governmental buildings, historic monuments and landmarks will symbolically go dark for an hour.
