Needs and Priorities of IDP and Conflict-Affected Women and Girls

The study aimed at assessing the situation and needs of IDP and conflict-affected women and girls, with a focus on single, elderly and disabled women, as well as female-headed households. Association of Women and Mothers of Disabled Children DEA in partnership with the Institute of Policy Studies (IPS) conducted the study. The study was carried out in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti and Shida Kartli regions in September-August, 2013.

To meet with the aims of the study, local and IDP women living in collective centers and private dwellings, including persons with disabilities and their caregivers, single, elderly women and heads of households and men, were surveyed in Samegrelo and Shida Kartli. The results of the study revealed the differences between the needs of the local population and IDPs from Abkhazia and South Ossetia, as well as between women and men.
